The world’s 1st certified in IECQ QC 080000 HSPM (Hazardous Substances Process Management) System complied with Green Process Supplier and Manufacturing Systems as well as the European Directive 2002/95/EC RoHS requirements and 2002/96/ED WEEE requirements.
To pursuit of excellence in various areas, in July 2006, Fook Tin successfully acquired ARPEGE MASTER K S.A.S in Lyon, France. The company is specialized in the design, manufacturing and distribution of industrial weighing products and it is one of the leading brands of weighbridges.

Awarded Gold Award of Hong Kong Eco-Products Award by Business Environment Council.
2004
Qualified in OHSAS 18001 by SGS in the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
Mr. Sunny Chai, Managing Director, was awarded 2004 Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong.
Awarded Certificate of Merit of Export Marketing of Hong Kong Awards for Industry.

Started the expansion of construction of the second phase.

Fook Tin Group Holdings Ltd. was established as the holding company.
Fook Tin Plastic Factory Ltd. was renamed as Fook Tin Technologies Ltd. to ensure its business nature.
Certified ISO 14001 by SGS in the Environmental Management System.
Awarded the HKSTP Technological Achievement Award of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP).
Acquisition of Terraillon SAS, one of world’s market leaders in consumer scales in Paris, France.Hanson UK Ltd. a subsidiary of Terraillon SAS was also acquired in the process.

FS-060 Body Fat Scale awarded Certificate of Merit in Consumer Product Design by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.
Acquisition of Scaime S.A.S., one of the world’s market leaders in magnitude sensor production based in Annemasse, France.

The FS-036 Glass Kitchen Scale and FS-032 Glass Bathroom Scale awarded Certificate of Merit in Consumer Product Design by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.

First launched the electronic bathroom scale with EL backlight in the world.

Started the production of electronic bathroom scales.
First launched the automatic-on electronic bathroom scales in the world.

Established of Cha’s Electronic Industries (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. with a production facility of over 300,000 sq.ft.

Started the production of load cells.

Fook Tin’s operation, engineering and quality systems. These improvements eventually led Fook Tin receiving awards and recognitions in the industry.
Started the production of electronic kitchen scales.
1950 - 1990

Fook Tin was the only manufacturer of its kind in Hong Kong passing the French standard of mechanical scales imported into France.
Started the research and development of electronic scales.
1989
Fook Tin established its manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen, China with 150 workers in the beginning
Began the in-house operation of assembling electronic PCBA.
Upon the clear market positioning of core product lines, mechanical kitchen scales was well accepted by the market due to the product quality and the right target strategy.
1988
Mr. Sunny Chai joined Fook Tin and assisted in applying modern management systems such as computerized integrated manufacturing system and quality system etc to the company. He also consolidated the product ranges to define market position of core product lines.
1987
Fook Tin put its manufacturing operations gradually from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, China.
1976
Fook Tin was incorporated in Hong Kong as a limited liability company, Fook Tin Plastic Factory Limited.
1975
Mr. Man-Chung Chai originated designed and developed Fook Tin’s first mechanical kitchen scale. It put Fook Tin in leading position in consumer scale business market and the industry.
1971
Fook Tin was one of the first manufacturers in Hong Kong to develop battery-operated lanterns. Some of these items are still being sold worldwide today.
70’s to 80’s, Fook Tin continued its development of mechanical and battery-operated consumer items such as battery-operated shavers, vacuum cleaners, tire inflators, mechanical kitchen scales, and battery operated or rechargeable lanterns.
1963
Mr. Man-Chung Chai established Fook Tin Plastic Factory, which manufactured plastic toys, and decorative plants, fruits and flowers.
