Sustainable Development Policy incorporates Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
Providing a safe and healthy work environment to employees not only ensures personal safety and health but also increases work productivity. We have incorporated some procedures in our management:
- To identify all OHS hazards including those generated from noise, chemicals, machinery, illumination, enclosed-working environment, working at height or otherwise existing in the working or living environment.
- To control, monitor and minimize the generation of such hazards to a safe level
- To control, monitor and minimize the occurrence of industrial incidents and accidents
- To install and maintain facilities to protect employees from OHS hazards and minimize any injury
- To establish, monitor and enforce the use of protective devices and equipment
- To educate and cultivate a corporate responsibility shared by all employees toward OHS
- To comply with all relevant laws and regulations
In implementing the management on OHS, Fook Tin commits to:
- Providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
- Providing and maintaining plant and machineries that do not endanger health or safety
- Updating all necessary information, instructions, trainings, and supervision for ensuring safe and health
- Providing and maintaining safe access to and egress from the workplace

2003
As the peak season of Avian Flu, Fook Tin provided flu vaccination and surgical masks to employees
2004
Fook Tin is certified by SGS in Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to OHSAS 18001 standard.
2005
Fook Tin is awarded the Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards Grand Award by the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH). It is a recognition of our effort in maintaining indoor air quality, educating our employees on the health risk of second hand smoke and providing advice to smokers on quitting smoking.
